Economically Sustainable Development

Manna designs, installs and operates water purification systems, biogas generators and high efficiency cookstoves in Rwanda.

• 400 water purification systems will be deployed over 4 years, providing clean water and improved sanitation to more than 330,000 people.

• 300 biogas generators will be deployed over 6 years, providing fuel for high efficiency cookstoves, agricultural fertilizer and improved sanitation for approximately 150,000 people.

  In partnership with the United Nations Millennium Development Facility, these systems will generate over 9.5 million saleable Certified Emission Reductions (CERs or ‘carbon credits’).

• Revenues will be used to operate and maintain the systems, as well as expand this model around the world.
